Marine Ropes stocks a full range of twisted (laid) ropes in 3-strand and 4-strand constructions. Twisted rope is the traditional rope construction — versatile, easy to splice, and available in all major materials.

3-Strand Nylon

3-Strand Nylon — High elasticity (15-35%), excellent shock absorption. Diameters: 3-46mm. Break loads: 750 kg (6mm) to 39,670 kg (46mm). Wet strength: ~90%. Applications: mooring, anchor warps, towing, kinetic recovery.

3-Strand Polyester

3-Strand Polyester — Low stretch, full strength when wet, excellent UV resistance. Diameters: 6-46mm. Break loads: 850 kg (6mm) to 46,270 kg (46mm). Sinks. Applications: permanent moorings, towing, fender lines.

3-Strand Polysteel

3-Strand Polysteel — Floating rope (SG 0.93). 3x stronger than manila. Diameters: 6-46mm (220m reels). Applications: fishing, agriculture, aquaculture, general purpose mooring.

3-Strand Polyrene

3-Strand Polyrene — Nylon-like elasticity without wet strength loss. 100% wet strength retention. Sinks. Diameters: 6-46mm. Applications: anchor warps, mooring where wet performance matters.

3-Strand Manila

3-Strand Manila — Natural fibre (abaca). Biodegradable, chars rather than melts. Diameters: 6-24mm+. Applications: heritage vessels, rope ladders, decorative use.

4-Strand Polysteel

4-Strand Polysteel — Rounder, firmer profile than 3-strand. Better for capstan/winch applications. Diameters: 8-26mm. Same break loads as 3-strand at equivalent diameters.

Tunnel Rope HDPE

Tunnel Rope HDPE — Specialist agricultural rope. Black, UV-stabilised. 6-8mm only. Purpose: securing plastic sheeting on farm tunnels and greenhouses.
